Must See – Hollywood Wax Museum! Great for a day trip! #waxfan

You might think finding things to do in California is easy. But when you live in California it can sometimes be difficult because most of the time you’ve already exhausted all the typical tourist attractions. One place around here that has an abundance of things to do is Hollywood.  So I was excited about the opportunity to head on down to the Hollywood Wax Museum located on Hollywood Boulevard.
We all packed into the car and headed down to Hollywood. When we arrived I remembered how fun it is to walk down Hollywood Boulevard and all of the things there is to do. One thing I had never done was stopped at the Hollywood Wax Museum, I had always heard great things about it but it just never seems to be the main reason to head down there. Since the main purpose of this visit was to check out the wax museum and that was the first thing we did. One thing I can tell you if there’s a lot of parking around this location so when you arrive just look around you will quickly find a parking lot. Once inside the museum you walk to the Hollywood sign, they have the entire group take a group photo with it. They have it angled perfectly so that you see the whole thing. It was really cool. If you like your photo you have the ability to purchase it on your way out.

Once inside I was quickly amazed by how realistic an amazing these wax figures looked. At one point in time I caught one of them out of the corner of my eye and I was almost certain it was that star. I was bummed out to realize that it was just yet another amazing wax figure and this awesome Museum. Around each corner you will find more great sets filled with stars you know and recognize. Some are oldies but goodies like I Dream of Jeannie, I Love Lucy,Tom Hanks and some are more recent stars and celebs including grammy-winning music artist, reality TV stars and more. Tom HandsThey’re surely made sure to make it so that there is someone, everyone in your group will be excited to see. One section of the museum that impressed me the most was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles section. Mainly because I grew up watching the shows and movies and was really excited to see them at the Hollywood Wax Museum.
When you see each star or celebrity closely by you will find an  information screen that contains a little bit about that star the movies they played an even the set that they might be found in. I really liked this added touch because to be honest there was a few stars I did not recognize. Or a few movie scenes from movies I did not see.

Most sets were open sets so you can get right next to your favorite star and take some fun photos for lasting memories. My daughter had so much fun going around and looking at all the pretty celebrities in there beautiful gowns and makeup, and quickly was asking for photos with many of them. Overall we had an amazing time we spent about an hour to an hour and a half peeking around and taking photos. They even have a horror section for those of you that are into the horror films. I personally did not go into the section as I stayed with her 3 year old but my husband and dad women and said that it was really cool and they had some amazing scenes from movies like saw.

If you’re looking for an interesting and unique day I would strongly suggest you plan a day out in Hollywood particularly on Hollywood Boulevard. Make your first stop the Hollywood Wax Museum as it’s less likely to be busy and you’ll be able to spend more time hanging out with your favorite celebrity and taking lasting memory photos. Here is a little background on the Hollywood Wax Museum:

Hollywood Wax Museum in Hollywood opened in 1965 and is located in the building that back in the early 1930s housed The Embassy Club, an exclusive entertainment industry nightclub. Each wax figure is a piece of art. Over time and currently, the Hollywood Wax Museum has worked with numerous sculptors, mold makers, and finishers to create life-like wax figures. Stylistic differences occur depending on which artists crafted the figures.

In addition to the location in Hollywood, CA. Visitors can plan their own family vacation to one of their locations in Pigeon Forge, TN or Branson, MO. All locations are open 365 days a year, so no matter when the vacation you will be able to visit. Be sure to visit The Hollywood Wax Museum on their website or Facebook page

Family Fun Day – Must See Place – Hollywood Wax Museum #waxfan

Trying to find something fun and different to do can be difficult, so I was beyond excited to learn about an awesome place in Hollywood that I have never visited and that would be a ton of fun for the entire family…. want to know what it is?  The Hollywood Wax Museum. This is a fun and exciting place located in Hollywood, right on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so you can make a day out of the visit.

If you have never heard of the Hollywood Wax Museum here is a little about it:

Hollywood Wax Museum was recognized last year as a “Hero of Hollywood”. The company that founded the attraction and continues to own and operate it, as well as expand the brand, is known for its integrity, relationship building and community service. It is a unique American success story—from one man’s vision comes an icon of Hollywood and tribute to entertainment. The company now has three generations of the founder’s family working in it. The neon sign on Hollywood Blvd that appears in many Hollywood montages has 17 stars, representing each of his children and grandchildren. You can also find a tribute to him in Pigeon Forge. The side of the Hollywood Wax Museum says Sundher Building (est. 1922), the year of Spoony Singh’s birth.

I was beyond excited to learn that the Hollywood Wax Museum is the longest-running wax museum in the United States, in addition it has been one of the most visited indoor attraction in Hollywood since 1965. To make it even more impressive the Hollywood Wax Museum was the first wax museum to dedicate its entire show to Hollywood, the celebrities and the amazing pop culture.

This is one of those things to do in Hollywood that everyone should take time to do. I am so excited to plan a family fun day and take a visit to the local Hollywood Wax Museum, they have so many amazing celebrities there that I can’t wait to see including

4255_87155617826_4569902_nThis was one of my favorite shows growing up and I can’t wait to see the I Dream of Jeannie. In addition to her there are many many more. This is going to be a great family fun day. The best part is that the Hollywood Wax Museum was designed for interaction. So rather than walking by and looking, I will have the ability to walk into the open sets that they have created and take photos with the figures. I am so excited!

A Night to Remember at Medieval Times – My Visit to the Buena Park Castle! Check it out!

Medieval Times 1.fwThank you Medieval Times – Buena Park Castle for Sponsoring our visit!

Finding new and exciting things to do can be hard. So when I was invited to the Medieval Times – Buena Park Castle, I could not say yes fast enough. This was going to be an amazing opportunity to check out a unique and different type of dinner show. If you have never been to a Medieval Times dinner show I would strongly encourage it.  Here is a little about the show from the company website,

Surrender to an age of bravery and honor and witness epic battles of steel and steed during our ALL-NEW SHOW. From ringside seats, discover a feast of the eyes and appetite with more action, more fun & more excitement than ever before.

As you thrill to a rousing live jousting tournament, marvel at awe-inspiring horsemanship and falconry, Medieval Times serves a four-course meal fit for royalty.

Hang on to your helmet. The show is about to begin.

When you arrive, you are assigned a “section” which correlates to a color, we were given the amazing Red Knight. We all received crowns, and made our way to the hall. This was a fun area where we were able to explore a little of the caste, get a drink at the bar, and shop.

Medieval Times 5.fwOnce in the arena we quickly made our way down to our seats, we scored the front row, which was amazing! At each seat we had red banners, our soup cups, plate, drink cup, napkin…. but ummmmm no  fork, spoon, knife. WOW, we were in for an adventure for sure.

Medieval Times 2.fw

The menu per the website was,

His Majesty’s royal feast includes:

  • Oven Roasted Chicken
  • Garlic Bread
  • Tomato Bisque Soup
  • Herb-Roasted Potato
  • Spare Rib
  • Pastry of the Castle
  • Select Non-Alcoholic Beverages

We were quickly greeted by our server and our adventure had really begun, they all talk as if they were from the medieval time making the experience that much more enjoyable and memorable. First on the menu was an amazing tomato soup, and garlic bread, we did have to “drink” our soup. After that we received chicken, ribs and half of a potato, again all of which we had to eat with our hands. It was a lot of fun, we all laughed, eat and enjoyed the show. You will receive a LOT of food, but don’t worry they offer togo boxes and bags.  After the “dinner” we received large wet napkins so we could clean up and get ready to receive a warm, yummy, apple turnover. The food was amazing, and better than expected. But the best part was the amazing show. Complete with knights, king, princess, horses, and more. Here is the Green Knight with some of his “people” behind him.

Medieval Times 3.fw

We were all encouraged to cheer on our knight and watch all the amazing thing that they would have done and competed in back in the medieval days. We really felt like we went back in time once we received our crowns and entered the castle.

Medieval Times 4.fwThe horses in the show were able to perform and do some amazing tricks. We were all in awww of the amazing animals, and the handlers that made this show possible. I had never seen a horse “bow” like this before. This for me was one of the awww moments of the show. After all the “civil” activity the knights quickly got ready for battle. While the battle was on a nets were down to insure that we “the people” were all safe, but able to cheer on our knights. This amazing photo was provided by the Medieval Times because it was hard to obtain good photos with the net down.

good clean fun

To really get a feel for the amazing atmosphere that they create in the castle and the fun that you can have here is a short commercial that they feature on their website,

I am so thankful that we received this amazing opportunity to visit the castle and experience the Medieval Times. If you are looking for a fun Birthday Dinner, Anniversary Dinner, or even just because consider visiting the castle. I would strongly encourage you to upgrade to the Royalty Package which is $10 a person but you receive the following:

  • VIP Seating
  • Commemorative Program
  • Knight’s Cheering Banner
  • “Behind the Scenes” DVD (One Per Party)

The Cheering Banners really help you cheer for your knight and get more involved with the show. My daughter loved waving them around. And keep your eyes on your knight because during the show he throws our flowers, selects his queen of the tournament and more. My daughter was the LUCKY Red Knight Queen of the Tournament and received a beautiful “sash”. It really was a night we will remember for a LONG LONG time.

R143 Color Hi-res LogoPreview

My family and I recently had an amazing opportunity to attend the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey present “Built to Amaze!”. Prior to the BIG show we attended the Animal Open House, this was a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the crowd favorite animals in the show. We were able to watch and check out the tigers as they relaxed and got cooled down prior to the show. My daughter was so excited.

pre circusOnce we were done with the animal open house, we headed inside for the all access pre-show, so much was going on and you were allowed to head on to the floor and participate in some pre show excitment. Once the show started we all sat in awww of the amazing show we were watching.

getting startedThere was so much going on, you did not want it to be over. The wide range of acitivies and excitment kept you wondering what was going to come on next. One of the WOW moments was the tight rope walkers when they took it to the next level.

during showIn addition the amazing things that the elephants did really amazed me. I was so impressed and really enjoyed the amazing show that we were able to watch.
